PLU Events
The Professional Liaison Unit organises a number of events throughout the academic year aimed at equipping students with the tools and skills required fro finding placements, internships and graduate opportunities.
Examples include:
Careers in IT, Question Time
An opportunity for Informatics students to ask alumni how they got to where they are now.
Employer-led Skills Sessions
- CVs, application forms and interviews – what are recruiters looking for?
- Assessment Centres – what are they and what should I expect?
School of Informatics Placements & Internships Fair
Students are given the chance to meet and discuss the undergraduate placement and postgraduate internship opportunities being offered by 30 organisations
Placement Introduction Sessions
Second year undergraduates are invited to attend these sessions to find out the process and good practice for finding a placement
Postgraduate Internship Presentation
These take place in induction week and give information on the application process etc.
Professional Pathway Presentation
An opportunity for undergraduates to find out the School’s innovative scheme.
